My Kickstarter backed aergrind just arrived.

Here's some pics.

Perfectly aligned as usual.

Bottom / bottom comparison. Note the difference between the beta and final product. The base is NOT black and NO longer plastic.

Here's some inside shots.

Also note the marked line for the handle.

The handle fits snug. The catch cup comes on and off very smoothly.

I'll post a follow up as soon as I have time to test 'er out.

I'm really confused about what's going on with backer reward fulfillment. The Oct 1 update said Knock was shipping 100 or more grinders per day at that point. Based on coffeeforums.co.uk posts, they were seemingly fulfilling completely random backer tiers. To make it more confusing, a special email was sent on Oct 10 just to say that all 20 "A-team" rewards would be fulfilled. I'm in the "speedy saver" tier in the first 50 backers and haven't heard a peep about shipping.

My aergrind arrived in Minneapolis today. I just received my very first e-mail notification from knock a couple hours ago notifying me that my aergrind was on it's way. They kindly provided a tracking ID, which told me my package was in New York. But, like magic, the aergrind was at my door when I got home from work a couple hours later. So beware, there's a chance this one may just show up without much notice.

First impression: it took a moment to realize that the handle needs to be attached to adjust grind, roughly 25g capacity, grinding is comfortable, takes between 35-60 seconds depending on grind coarseness and user effort, grind particles appear very uniform to the eye and touch (similar to Lido 2), and my favorite part.. very minimal grind/chaff retention under the burrs and in catch jar, it's very very easy to clean after each use. This is a huge improvement relative to my experience w/ other hand grinders.

Now I can only hope my order arrives before the end of the year, since with Peter ignoring every message on any medium, cancelling this will be impossible. And I won't have any other window to pick it up other than when I visit a friend in Spain in January. Jeez, I already consider the money as good as gone

I ordered a Feldgrind on September 6. I doubled down on this mistake, and I ordered an Aergind on September 11. I have not received either grinder. Made By Knock has not responded to any inquiries about the status of my orders. The only responses that I have gotten from Made by Knock are invoices and charges to my credit card.

I just received a message on Kickstarter with the tracking number for my 2 aergrinds coming to Canada. I've got a backer number around 270+ and opted for the black color.

I've had the aer in use daily for over a month now with great results. I first I thought I'd go back to the hausgrind, but now I keep that one set for a different blend and use the aer exclusively, Makes great espresso and is easy to adjust, grind, and dose with. When the wait is over you'll appreciate the quality of the aer.

I've had the Feldgrind for a little over a year and have loved it. which of course made me have to buy the aergrind. Straight out of the box it's obvious it's made with some cheaper materials which makes me wonder how long the finish and the raw metal bottom will last. The lid is plastic which was a real bummer to me, maybe I'll have to make a wood lid or something to satisfy my need for no plastic. I do like the way the grind is adjusted on the aergrind, you dont have to to take the lid off to change the setting. Everything moves smoothly and fits together perfect. The burrs are the same and the grind is the same as the Feldgrind which is great! I Love the portability and that it fits in an aeropress, that was my one bugaboo with the Feldgrind. So far I love the aergrind and highly recommend it to anyone! Now who wants to buy my Feldgrind? I also never received any tracking info before I received mine so don't be discouraged if you haven't either. It's going to get to you, and it's going to be worth the wait
