Ponte Vecchio bottomless portafilter fit problem

I have a bottomless Pontevecchio portafilter from LaMacchina del Caffe. The flanges seem a little too thick for the group on my PV Export although it can be used with a bit more turning force than I like. It is hopeless for my Samas. I am debating filing the flanges down or fitting a 4mm group gasket or both.

Anyone have experience with this issue?
