What enhancements would you like to have in your grinder, and how much would you pay for each?

My main grinder is a Baratza Sette 270Wi, which usually sells for around $600.
Below are the enhancements I'd like to see and how much I'd be willing to pay for each:
- A more robust (metal?) gearbox that doesn't need to be replaced every 3 years. +$100
- Quieter operation, say 10 dB less. +$70
- Variable RPM. +$100
- Easier to see/read grind level markings. +$30
- 3 additional weight presets (for different baskets, brewing methods). +$30
All of the above would add $330, which is still less than half of the price of the Liechtenstein-made, etzMAX version of the 270Wi, so still a reasonable price.

I have the Sette30 with 270 adjuster. Completely agree with the recommendations Boren made.boren wrote:My main grinder is a Baratza Sette 270Wi, which usually sells for around $600.

I'd happily pay $100 to for -15db. Jackhammers have lower SPL levels.
