Catch cup: Pros and cons

I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a catch cup (Kafatek flat grinder / ECM Synchronika).
Does a catch cup lead to better coffee and/or better workflow? I'm worried shaking the catch-cup might compress the grinds unevenly (before leveling the grinds). I'm assuming the funnel (that fits the PF when grinding) will then fit on top of the catch cup when grinding?
Tips on puck prep appreciated..
Right now I grind into the pf with a funnel.. Shake the pf to level, then use a coffee whisk to break clumps and level more.. then a leveling tool. Finish off with tamper.
