All good points, and I'm pretty certain that the Silvia is the right machine for me, at least in its tier. At $600 it fits in my budget, but I am curious as to what machines would come into consideration if I were to part with $200-300 more, although the chances of this are slim at best.
The achille is only $900 here.. Strange, things always seem to be less expensive across the pond.jesawdy wrote: I am curious, what would the Achille cost you over there? It is $1300 here in the US.

Yes, but the Silvia, for instance, is less than $500 in the US and about $600 in europe.

It's still a good machine in its class, there's just a bit more to choose from today than we had before.
