Bezzera Strega lever "jittery"
Recently my last part of the lever action on my Bezzera Strega has become "jittery" , I've already tried greasing the bearing but that didn't work
Does anyone have any idea, or a guide to open and clean the group?

Remove cover, disconnect switch, take off bolts that bind upper and lower group and pull out the spring assembly.

There's a much easier fix. This just means the seals are out of lube. Turn the machine off and wait for 10 minutes pull the lever all the way down so that the piston is in the upper position. Remove the shower screen and lube the inside of the cylinder. Move the lever up and down a couple of times and your done. Removing the whole piston is for large maintenance but for just lubing the piston this works best and is much easier.

Don't feel bad, I've pulled the screen and partially pulled the lever on a hot machine to get a little silicone grease up in there, and still didn't think of this.another_jim wrote:Sweet! Never thought of that.

Don't use petroleum products like Vaseline. Use Dow/Molykote 111 O-Ring Silicone Lubricant. You can usually find a small size used for scuba.Armand wrote:he bedankt, kan ik vaseline gebruiken?

I do this regularly with my Cremina. Doug of Orphan Espresso has even posted a video on this technique.
