Improved grind setting rings for Mazzer & Macap grinders

Hi all,

I grew tired of not having a clear scale on the grind setting ring of my Mazzer Mini, so I made it myself in Photoshop
Thought maybe someone would be interested as well, so here's to sharing!

I printed the new setting ring on glossy photo paper and cut it out by hand:


The links point to archives with PSD and PDF versions, both with English and Italian text labels.

P.S. I own the Mazzer Mini and know the design fits like a glove (see pic above), but for the other grinders I'm going off measurements provided by other owners, so no guarantees there..

I updated the design to have more informative 'decimal' ticks

I updated the size of the design to fit the ring better and made a black version.. This one is printed on photo paper and cut by hand, I'm quite pleased with the result


Also, I made a similar design for Macap M4C rings.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll upload them..

If you give me with inner and outer dimensions of your ring, I'd be happy to adjust the design

I certainly would be interested!
I have both Mazzers (SJ, Major and Robur) and Macap (MXKR) for which I would like to have a direct reading "ring around the collar"

I've asked Dan to host the Macap & new Mazzer designs, so I think he will edit one of my posts when he's put the files on the HB server.
The Macap design is made for the M4C and the Mazzer is made for the Mini, but the size can be adjusted through photoshop. If you don't know how, you could give me the measurements of the other rings and I can do it for you as well..

Here are the measurements for my grinders:

The measurements are somewhat free hand so leave a little margin.
Also for the outer I have tried to take the flat portion inside the indentations.

Monday or Tuesday I will try to go get some metalized adhesive printer paper and see what we get.
The only slight issue is the Macap ring which is not flat. Some cuts may be required...
