I'm curious if anyone has found a safe way to travel with their Arco grinder. This grinder has a toggle switch up top that is very vulnerable.

Wondering the same thing. Even though I had the full electric motor Arco in a padded soft case, the shutter handle got bent on the last trip despite thinking I had it situated for full protection.

Thinking of using two pieces of 2" thick Kaisen foam, with profile cut outs, to sandwich the Arco to protect it in our rough and tumble world of off-road travels...

Bummer, you already had an "incident" from the sounds of it. That shutter is an interesting concept, not sure why it's needed but it's very smooth to operate.

I think a 3D print dude can come up with a "top hat" for the entire grinder so that both toggles can live inside a rigid case of some sort. My grinder and the espresso forge will live in the Landcruiser (inside a drawer) full time so they'll both get tossed around in the bush :D

Cheers.

Ask and you shall receive :D

btw: the shutter is there to prevent dust or foreign objects falling in your grinder when you are not using it.

Peter, this is great! Is Arco planning to make a travel case for the full 2n1? I have the hand grinder case from the kickstarter, but would love one for the full setup. I used the shipping box this past weekend when I took the Arco and my De1 to a weekend house party. People loved the espresso drinks I was making. If you're not planning to make one, is there a case that will fit the arco w the 3d printing you shared? Thx!

Goat Story is not planing on making a travel case for the whole thing right now. Not enough demand for such a thing to warrant production.
If I wanted to make one for myself, I would get a flightcase or one of those semi-rigid travel cases with wheels and cut the foam from the original packaging to fit inside. The foam is very durable.
You can get custom flightcases to fit whatever and they are not very expansive. Ask a a local musical shop, musicians get them built for all sorts of sizes of gear.

Thx for getting back to me. Makes sense. If I figure a solution out will post about it down the road :)
