If you're using the steel burrs I don't think there's much to be gained by running the grinder before pouring in the beans, as it's a bit slow to grind anyway. Probably best to just use the workflow you prefer.

I have had the single dose hopper since right after it came out. I prefer it over the larger stock hopper...no issues to speak of on my end.
