I'm a home user w/ a La Spaz Vivaldi II (plumbed). Assuming equal $$, which would you choose?

I think this comes down to conical vs large flat burr preference.
These are both capable grinders. It depends on your taste preferences.
This is not definitive. If you use dark or traditional Italian roasts and want to bring out a bit of brightness I would say go with the conical burr.
If you are prefer lighter roasts and want to balance the brightness with some body, go with the large flat burrs. I'm on the latter for espresso but prefer conical for P.O. and drip.

Between order and chaos there is espresso.

Thx. For espresso I like a medium roast w/ a little nuttiness. Not hard-core intensity that I associate w/ S. Italy. But also not "comfort food" espresso - some nuance there.redbone wrote:I think this comes down to conical vs large flat burr preference.
