Want to talk espresso but not sure which forum? If so, this is the right one.

I couldn't find reviews on the forum or user experience for the Steam Cleaning Brush. See the attached link and video from Chris' Coffee:

Would like to hear anyone that has experience with using this type of brush to clean their group head vs using a manual brush or frequently removing the group screen/gasket. Thx!

I haven't used one, but from the video it looks like it might create a mess with the steam and coffee bits splashing all over the place.

My experience with the steam cleaning brush is that I bought one when we bought our set up 2-1/2yrs ago. It remains in its unopened box, sealed, never used, not needed and not for sale - but I sure sleep better knowing that I have one!

An inexpensive hand steamer could do the same and add some versatility.

Or you can get this instead:
Espazzola - Tool for cleaning groupheads
Between order and chaos there is espresso.
Semper discens.

Have one of those too - still in the box!

I have been looking for something simple that works... this steam cleaning brush is not it...

I currently have this:

Not great either...

I saw a couple of videos of this one being used... looked very cumbersome to use...

I will give the Espazzola a try... looks like the right tool for the job. Will save me many rolls of paper towels which is how I am cleaning the grouphead now...

Espazzola - Tool for cleaning groupheads

I will still need to follow up with some minor finishing on the cleaning, but should be a lot less effort that I am putting into now. Too bad it is only available for the 58mm machines... wish it was available for my Breville (54mm) as well.

Anyway, order placed for the Espazzola! Apologies OP for the hijack...

Searching for that perfect espresso!

Please do hijack- good to hear of other options! I wonder does the Espazzola obviate the need to then unscrew the screen and clean that on a daily basis as well?

The Espazzola can not clean behind the screen, but it does a nice job on the portafilter side.

I find this group brush does the job quite well. That and occasional back flushing with frequent removal & cleaning of the dispersion screen and gasket.
