Hi all,Im a long time Bodum Cafetiere user but thought id give an espresso machine a go.Anyway ive got myself an Elektra Microcasa a Leva (S1 model) which ive got a few queries/questions about it.

Its missing the complete portafilter and i was wondering where is the best place in the uk to get one from or do any of the cheaper aftermarket ones fit ?? ,my machine is the gold/brass version with Dark wood handle.

The metal body part with the lever attached (sorry dont know that its called)has a small hole situated just in front of the lever pivot end(hole facing boiler) which had a trickle of water out of it the first few times i pressed the lever although it stopped once a bit of residue came out of the lower spout(where the filter should sit).Is this a normal over flow or is there some type of fault ?

Your best bet is to use a search engine to find a local reseller either in the U.K. such as http://www.coffeeitalia.co.uk/products.php?cat=10, http://www.theespressoshop.co.uk/en/Cof ... andIDs=114 , http://www.londonespresso.com/Spare_parts_Elektra.htm
or in nearby Italy like https://www.lamacchinadelcaffe.com/en/elektra.html.

You can always call or visit Elektra's website for a list of authorized local or online resellers
Between order and chaos there is espresso.

- the Richard Penney NEWD is heavy enough to help with playing around with temperature: http://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/19314952 ... e_active_4 (This link may have to be adjusted to get your local pricing.) Unfortunately, the brass version that I have is no longer available.

- the Naked http://www.naked-portafilter.com/shop/n ... esso-gears - I don't have one, but the lettering/engraving is cool.

FWIW, I would not recommend the original equipment portafilter in brass http://www.espressocare.com/products/it ... -and-brass - as I found mine difficult to keep clean enough to avoid "dirty portafilter" taste.

Also, note that most "Elektra" portafilters advertised are 58mm versions - these are found in pretty much every Elektra except the Micro Casa a Leva, which takes a 49 mm portafilter. Also, the 49mm portafilters for La Pavoni's will kind-of fit, but the portafilter ears will be angled in the wrong direction as the La Pavoni locks in the opposite direction from the MCaL.

Thanks for the Links,Im quite ocd about things matching so ill have to get the brass with wood handle version which is typical as all the aftermarket versions seem to be chrome.

Forgot to mention im in the UK which doesnt help as there isnt many suppliers over here.
