A couple of additional thoughts on these cheap scales.
  • - My higher 0.01g resolution scale is much faster than my 0.1g scale.
    - It also has settings for how long it stays on: 60, 120, 180 secs, and one that stays on until you manually turn it off.
Obviously, the resolution is higher than needed, but a quick reading is very nice. They are sold under many names, but here is an example of it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IQO57A4?psc=1

Good luck!
Agreed. Blue lit backscreen with black numbers create nice contrast for readability, it's reasonably fast, and I've found it to be accurate as well. At less than 20 dollars, if it does happen to take a tumble off the kitchen counter or get spilled on, you'll shed less tears than with a substantially more expensive scale. It's also incredibly tiny, which I found convenient, but you may prefer something with a larger surface area.
