Hi all, I have scratches on my filter basket because i used a spoon to scoop the coffee puck as i had no knockbox then. Will this affect the intregrity of the holes?

Not likely.
If it's a bottomless portafilter, you could monitor it yourself. I think you'd have to significantly dent or actual mar a few holes to cause much of a problem. And even that might not be the worst thing ever.

You would have to gouge it pretty good to really impact it. Surface scuffs should be minimal. If you take say a half inch dowel rod, a small plastic trash can, a half inch drill bit, drill a hole on either side of the trash can and stick the dowel through it, you have a cheap gets it done knock box.
