I have the Vario with steel burrs but I can't grind coarse enough for French press. I've recalibrated the grinder to its coarsest position with an allen key and whacked both levers down to the coarsest setting and yet I still can't get near a French press grind. What's the problem? Should I contact Mahlkoenig or could it be the burrs?

Which calibration setting did you use? There are 2 of them.

Yeah, I've set both of them in the coarsest possible position as per the instructions and still can't get a French press grind. I'm stumped...
