I am trying to troubleshoot the source of erratic temperature readings on my second-hand Silvia (2011) with PID (XMT-7100). I thought I'd start with the thermocouple, which I understand is a type K, before starting over with a new PID kit. I am looking for help identifying the attachment device that the thermocouple cable fits into, picture at link. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/6hfo1u3soip8q ... e.jpg?dl=0). It looks like I can order the cable from Auberins (http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_ ... ducts_id=2 but I am not sure what do to about replacing the attachment to the boiler.
(The problem I am trying to solve is, the machine warms up and is stable for about 10 minutes, then the temperature reading starts to jump around by 10 -20 degrees or more, and the boiler appears to keep heating. It flashes steam if activated, and the safety thermostat is sometimes triggered, but the main boiler light does not turn on. I've tinkered with the parameters according to various guides and instructions, and tried autotune, all with no major effect. I'm new at PID's and would welcome any advice. )

How long have you had the PID? Since it's an internal installation, it's possible the heat from the machine while warming up is affecting the PID. Have you tried it with the top open at all?
