Hi, I am new here. I usually make myself a single-shot coffee using the Manufacturer's single basket. I would like to know which of the IMS single basket work for Strega and what is a suitable tamper for a tight fit.
I am currently using Rattleware 58mm tamper, it seems to be quite loose.

I have a 9.5g single IMS and a 12/18g double IMS. You can make a tight fit tamper, but I would measure your individual basket. IMS should be pretty close in spec, but I think a double check is good.

My single goes from 59.5mm to 58.25mm inner diameter.

Double is from 59.0mm to 58.0mm

Personally I use a standard 58mm flat tamper with about a mm of gap, and I don't find any problems with it. My only issue sometimes with the single is that the tamped cake can stick to my tamper and come out instead of staying in the basket. I guess the basket is quite smooth compared to my tamper finish. Pressing again usually transfers it back and I don't have issues with the extraction.
