Is there any value in having a machine that can do preinfusion if all I drink are darker Italian style blends using the traditional 14g dosing and 1:2-1:3 brew ratios?

I've come to find that I really enjoy traditional Italian style espresso much more than the third wave stuff. I love the body, the chocolates, and the traditional coffee taste I get from these blends vs. the more acidic/fruity stuff we get here in the states.

I used to own a Silvia paired with a Rocky a few years ago.
Then I upgraded to an Oscar (equipped with OPV and gicleurs) and moved to an Eureka Mignon.
I used them mostly in the morning for a double espresso and the weekends.
