Something new in Ottawa

Redbird Blue Jaguar and Te-aro

I've had lots of Te Aro coffees and am rarely disappointed, they are very consistently good or excellent. I tried the Burnout and liked it, it's not very darkly roasted at all really, only a little oil is beginning to appear on the beans, but I guess by light roast standards they consider it strong....

Roasters in Italy?

I used to frequent a cafe in Toronto that imported from an Italian company called Caffe Mike. It was quite a good coffee, they used the MIKE "ORO BAR". The company is located in northern Italy (Alessandria), you could try contacting them for orders: {link}

Londinium shipping to Canada

Regular mail back and forth between most of Ontario and the UK is really fast. I am not sure I would trust it out west for coffee. I've sent stuff to my grandparents in England and had it arrive in two days on multiple occasions

Why do good roasters sell stale coffee?

I'm surprised by, here in Toronto, 49th Parallel roasters ship their coffee the slowest way possible from the west coast. The shops get them in 7 days post roast and that's if they get them in time to put them out on the day they get them. ...

Redbird vs Black Cat vs Hairbender

I tried Hairbender at LIT cafe (Toronto) it was pretty amazing. I hear it's difficult to get the brew right though, I haven't brought home any beans yet, but I'm going to give it a shot sometime soon. It compared to Black cat analogue at Manic Coffee, but I think I like hairbender a bit more. I Tried
