La Marzocco GS3 Low Flow Rate

I got the expansion valve removed and ordered a new one to replace it since everything is already taken apart right now. The parts, including the element, will be here next week. Based on the info you all have provided I should be all set. And yes, like you I had to fully remove the bleed screw before it would drain. Thanks!

Cracking in boiler lid

I have no idea, but I could certainly believe it. I'm not sure how to tell difference between cracks and flaws showing up as fins. The pattern definitely is odd for cracking (again I say this without much knowledge) and again without knowledge I could certainly believe it's instead a part of the casting process. This all brings up a related question... why are espresso boilers so heavily built in ...

I don't know - like I said, I was just spitballing ideas. I imagine it could be done. Vit might be in a better position to answer the question, considering he already affixed a similar dial to his other machine. On a related note, I think he was commenting on the temperature stability (or lack thereof) of his cheap DeLonghi SBDU.
