The espresso journey begins...setup advice, please!
I will most definitely be using quality coffee. I'm located in the Los Angeles area, so there are an endless number of roasters and specialty coffee shops at my disposal. I think I've received a couple recommendations about the Niche in this thread but I think it's out of my budget. I need to research the difference between the

SSP 98mm Lab Sweet User Experience
Contact option 0. They will sell you 98mm mizen and you can put those in any grinder Evan knows the mizens and LS very well. It seems like LS are going to be a bit more oriented towards the medium and darker roasts. I have used mizens a lot for light roasts only. They temper

The 300 bar espresso shot
I guess it isn't 300 bars, but 300 tons, so roughly 321 bars. I love the Hydraulic Press channel. These Finns are so funny. {video}

Niche Duo alternatives, reasonable price in USA
Well, I ended up ordering a DF64 Gen 2. Reports are that it is not as loud as my Encore. Dollar for Dollar, it seems the best option. I can start with the stock burrs, and upgrade should I feel the need. Lots of burr options and manageable workflow, noise (hopefully) and mess issues. Now

Profitec Pro 800, won't heat after power outage
I don't know how the Pro800 is wired, but It sounds like an electromagnetic solenoid relay repeatedly clicking. This can occur when there is enough voltage to energize the relay but not enough to keep it open. Error: I meant keep it closed, not open

Office Coffee Drama
I did this for myself only, but then the Safety patrol came around saw it in my cubicle and nixed it... Can't blame them, with an exposed boiler - high heat and high pressure who knows if someone came into my cube and tried it when I wasn't around. We had a "coffee club" but

Option-O Lagom 01 Discussion
I have found that the supplied grind cup has been most useful to grind for pourover and my Moccamaster due to it's large capacity. However, it is hit or miss when inverting directly into the portafilter. No matter how much I tap or swirl the cup, the grounds invariably get loaded up on one side of the basket and
