Zerno grinder

Whole conical burr that increases the grind path significantly isn't quite the same as a prebreaker. Excuse me ! I don't think he's ever put EG and Kafateks at the same level as Niche, but please prove me wrong. It's a decent grinder for some, but it's not a high end

Do I Have Low Flow Control Values?

The simple answer is if you have a vibration pump the water debit for a stock machine is going to be about 7.5-8ml/sec. That is usually matched by opening a standard e61 flow control valve about 1.5 turns from the no flow position. Rotary pumps have significantly higher water debit at 11-12ml/sec

Sage Oracle Touch Steam Wand Can't Descale

After the espresso machine has warmed up, open the steam boiler drain valve, it's the one on the right side, and the steam pressure will force the water from the boiler to flow and empty the boiler. If no water is flowing, then the boiler is clogged at the bottom, in which case the boiler must be removed and manually

La Marzocco Linea Mini User Experience

My local LM tech installed a new vacuum breaker on my LMLM with the use of Loctite of some kind (I didn't see exactly which one). Is that stuff OK to basically now have inside/near the boiler? The reason is that I didn't want PTFE tape to seal the vacuum breaker so he went with this solution instead. I

Problem with my Flair 58 plus

The reason is either he uses an oil unsuitable for the gasket material, some will have negative effects on longevity and other just work poorly. You can use oil but it needs to be the right kind, additionally some oil will create a layer with a rough surface where the heating element is placed, resulting in sealing issues

Dual Boiler being repaired by Breville

Thank you. Going through the process and paying for the repair would be frustrating if it didn't yield the expected outcome. Thinking optimistically and hopeful for excellent results

Just got my ACS Vostok 1 group (Pics)

What is the fill process like for the water tank? It looks cumbersome to take the top of the warming tray off and the lift the plastic lid with the water pipes in the way? Thanks

Breville Dual Boiler Mods and Maintenance

Hi, You are having problems due to a large build up of limescale, you can see the marks on the inlet connection. All you can do is remove the boiler and descale it by immersing into descaling solution. Leave it in descaling solution preheated to 60 degrees Celsius for at least 30 minutes. You can try to reconstruct the Teflon

Decent Espresso news

Probably early May. We're waiting for the final Bengle prototype parts to arrive, and also... I've hired a local photographer to help us take nice photos of Bengle. That way, when we show it to the world, we can try to show it in a good light (as the expression goes). Bengle will come in 3 versions: - 100V-120V

Breville Barista Express 870 mods (group head)

Hi and thanks you for helping. I have a Breville barista express 870 and I want to change the shower screen (easy) but under that there is a piece of plastic which is surrounded by a gasket. I want to change that plastic piece. Is that possible? If not, why not? I think it's also called the group
