Izzo Alex Duetto II - June Shipment Report
I was planning to call Chris Coffee this morning to place an order for the July shipment, but there seem to be a lot of fit n finish concerns with this last batch people received. Was it just a bad batch or is this consistent with the previous batches of Duettos to go out the door. It's almost got me

First starting out, is Izzo Alex Duetto too much?
Socalsteve I'm right there with ya. I'm looking at the Alex Duetto II for my first (and hopefully last) machine. and while I've been debating between it and the Mini Vivaldi II, I'm really leaning towards the Alex. I like the option of being able to plumb later even though I have to go with the rese...

Hand grinder for the AeroPress?
Thanks SlowRain. I took the TWIST to work for the first time today. worked well, but took a while to get everything all done with the interruptions. That being the case, for now, I think I'm going to leave the TWIST for home use while I save up for a home machine and use the quicker Aeropress for work

Also there is apparently a newer Porlex that looks wider, but from s...

Neophyte seeks reality check...
I'm in pretty much the same place you are now. I've done the reading, made the comparisons and while I've not decided on a machine yet either, I've moved towards a DB instead of an HX machine. I know both types (depending on the quality of the machine) can make equally good espresso and milk drinks,...

Worth replacing La San Marco SM-90 with a Baratza Vario?
I put a fresh set of burrs in it after I picked it up, so it runs like a champ

Worth replacing La San Marco SM-90 with a Baratza Vario?
After putting it off for as long as I could, I am finally expanding into the realm of espresso. I resisted the temptation (and expense) while I was back to being a student again (after a 20 yr break) but now that I'm back to having funds and free time I've decided to take the plunge. For the moment ...
