Anyone use a Baratza Vario for both espresso and French Press?

I've not been successful doing both, so I just use my Vario for espresso only and bought a blade grinder for FP. However, I'm not pleased with the inconsistency of the blade grinder for FP, either, and now looking for a good dedicated FP grinder that won't break the bank

New Izzo Pompei - Spring Lever Espresso Machine

So I'm assuming the big Izzo single-group is a plumb-only? It seems like the epitome of reliability (less to break) but wonder if it would be harder for me to get a consistent shot compared to my Duetto II or if I would ever miss my Duetto II. Have any of you guys made the switch to use a lever

New Izzo Pompei - Spring Lever Espresso Machine

Why does the Izzo lever unit have such a large boiler for a manual machine? For a simple unit, why so expensive? Is it hard to use? Can it produce better shots than a Duetto II? If it was the same size as the Duetto II and more affordable, I wouldn't mind considering it as a sibling

Quick Mill Silvano from Chris' Coffee

I think the Silvano is a great machine and works well when paired with the Vario. The beauty of the Silvano is its simplicity. I actually liked the toggle switches for the operation. The steam was very dry and frothed milk very well in about a minute. The technique with the Silvano is different than...

From Quick Mill Silvano to Izzo Alex Duetto II

I recently made an early upgrade from the Quick Mill Silvano to the Izzo Duetto II and thought I would share my experience in case it might help someone else with their buying decision. These are expensive units and potential buyers like to have as much information as possible before forkin' over th...

Custom Wood for your Espresso Machine

Thanks for the information. I was just wondering if anyone made custom wood handles for RB bases and this is good news. Actually, I already have a set of custom RB C-Flat bases (58.4-58.7mm) in the mail coming to me from RB and the usual postage from Canada for a small box is about $20. I have
