Profitec Pro 700 steam boiler safety valve goes off

Thanks John! No visible rust, limescale or other obstructions but it seems to have done the trick

Profitec Pro 700 steam boiler safety valve goes off

I have a problem with my Profitec 700 that puzzles me. The other day, loud puffs came from the machine when activating the brew head. It turned out that the safety pressure valve on the steam boiler was the culprit. I therefore replaced it with a brand new one but the problem persists. Even when the

New high-end grinder - cutting vs. grinding the beans

Just came across this Kaffeselskabet Crown Espresso Grinder, which I - despite being Danish myself - have never hear of. {link} Can't find any reviews out there but it would be interesting to see whether the claim that cutting the beans instead of grinding them actually makes the coffee taste better...

Rancilio Kryo 65

Hey - does anyone have experience with the Rancilio Kryo 65 grinder (OD or other versions)? Any comments on build quality (looks a little "plasticky") or the grind quality (e.g. is it any better than other 65 mm grinders like the SJ)? Thanks, Claus

Unscrewing the heating element from Quickmill Andreja Premium

Can't get QM spare parts here in Denmark, and the only one I could find in Europe was for the newer models. My local shop gave me an Isomac thermostat to try out instead. It has a lower temperature rating and does not have a reset switch, but it works. Will run the machine with that for now but I

Unscrewing the heating element from Quickmill Andreja Premium

Hi Eric, Don't have a volt meter at hand although I may be able to borrow one from the neighbor. The green lights go on and the pump works - the red stays off and so does the heating element. My problem has changed a bit though, as I've managed to get the heating element to switch

Fault finding: pressurestat or limit stat or control unit?

I've got a weird problem after descaling my Andreja Premium. My machine won't heat up, and I've been going through the various components (save the heating element, as I could not get it out). Bypassing the limit stat did not work at first, but when I then fiddled around a little with the connectors...

Unscrewing the heating element from Quickmill Andreja Premium

Thanks Terry. Think I'll need to get help in the same way, as I'm afraid to twist the whole machine out of kilter. Before getting that far, is there any way of fault checking the pressure stat? The limit stat can be bypassed (which I have done) but can one do something similar with the pressure stat?
