New espresso techniques and tools
I'm in a similar spot. I haven't been involved in the forum for some time. I too am surprised at the level of progression. After spending a lot of time reading again and applying and repeating I have had great success focusing on accurate measurement of dose and extraction ratio over time. It has al...

I want to add a second pump to my Brewtus advise please
I have always been annoyed by the steam boiler auto fill on the Brewtus. If I brew and steam at the same time it seems to always kick on at some point during the shot. The result is the brew pressure drops to 0 and then recovers after the refill cycle stops. I hate this. I am replacing the

Is it time to replace the internal valves on my E61?
Yes that was it exactly. The cut away was very cool. Thank you seems like an insufficient reply for all of those links, more like thanks for putting up with my lame questions. You're always very helpful

Is it time to replace the internal valves on my E61?
I have a Brewtus 2. I have noticed lately that while pulling a shot there is a constant stream of water coming out of the exhaust valve on the E61. I also have to refill the reservoir and empty the drip tray much more frequently, and if I leave the machine on all day it will steadily drip from the

Water escaping over lip of portafilter (bottomless)
It sounds like the ears on the new PF may not be as thick as they are on the other one. Have you compared the two?

Trying to get better at latte art - requesting feedback
Great cinematography. Very artistic, I want to go buy that set up it looked awesome. The thing is though, for a video requesting feedback on latte art you totally blew the shot of your pour. I mean I watched 8 minutes of nicely shot video to end with your hand totally in the way. Another video would...

How often do you clean your grinder's burr chamber?
I fully disassemble my grinder after each shot. While disassembled I sterilize all surfaces, sharpen the burrs, lubricate the motor shaft and doser, resolder all of the circuit board connections, and then reassemble and repackage it in the original shipping container. I then place it back on the cou...

Leaking Expobar Brewtus IV
If it is leaking at the kink the hose has a hole in it and there is little you can do other that replacing that length of hose. It looks like it needs to be routed to the other side of the other hose so as not to kink. This would probably require a longer piece of hose.

Brew your espresso as coffee first?
Thanks for the feedback. I think I will learn something from doing this. I guess I will have to pull out a spare grinder and the vac pot and see what I am and am not capturing in my espresso

Brew your espresso as coffee first?
At the risk of sounding like an idiot I must admit that I never (almost never) drink brewed coffee. The more I read the more I see that seasoned members brew their espresso as coffee first to see how it tastes before making it as espresso. Sort of a cupping but for the espresso roast? So now it's Su...
