Quickmill Vetrano fittings
Thanks for answers. I had to remove all old fittings to get this to work and then carefully bend/rotate it to allow Sirai to fit. A small pain but it worked. David

Quickmill Vetrano fittings
To all a Merry Christmas... I have a QM Vetrano old model HX with Sirai pressure stat. The copper pipe/tubing between it and the boiler is leaking with pin hole. I have been working with my original dealer, but exact parts like this are not available. They sent a replacement that has different fitti...

Quickmill Vetrano pump problem
Eric, I did this with the Chris techs and the pump ran to refill. It has been going on now for almost 9 months and the machine is close to 9 years old. I will try to get that wire changed this week. David

Quickmill Vetrano pump problem
I have been trying to solve this problem with technicians at Chris Coffee for a while, but haven't found a solution yet. The pump will turn on and off in fraction of a second increments. This happens mainly after drawing water from the boiler either through the hot water dispenser or after steaming....

Is anyone still roasting with the RK Drum Roaster
I have had mine for about 9-10 years and probably use it monthly for 2-4 and sometimes 5 lb roasts. Agree with comments about controlling the heat. I have a Huky which is great; you always know where the roast is. Despite not having the bean probe temp feedback with the RK, I usually get good roasts

Mini Moka aluminum boiler
Thanks. I did call and confirm the above and also found out it will not work with cast aluminum. Not doubting you but wanted to check with them as to what would work with this. Their Supper Alloy 5 product is what they recommend, but kind of pricy at $100+ with shipping. That product is free

Mini Moka aluminum boiler
Ultimately, I am concerned about long term reactions to hot water. I did not think about this at first, but I doubt that these epoxies are meant for food containing vessels. Also, if I do choose to metal plate, I was told that epoxies cannot be plated, or at least by the businesses that I contacted. I

Mini Moka aluminum boiler
Well, the thought of 200 F H20 in the reservoir making "epoxy tea" had me worried. Therefore, I am removing the JB Weld with heat, scrape and brush. I will try to find a solvent to remove any residue. Then will try a lower temp aluminum brazing material. I found something called Muggyweld Super Allo...

Mini Moka aluminum boiler
Ultimately, I think that the safest ting to do would be to sand down the epoxy and have it professionally chromed, if chrome will be able to go over the JB Weld. That should keep it in service for many years as the lever mechanism looks good. The heating element is stamped with an 86, so could this

Mini Moka aluminum boiler
Well, I admit that nowhere does this say food safe, but "non-toxic" and "ingestion of small amounts are not harmful" are terms thrown around quite frequently. So, what to do? The Por 15 seems to be in the same category. What is a food safe way to coat all this now? David
