Hands on experience with the Eagle One Prima

How much of an annoyance is the lack of a timer? It would seem like a huge annoyance to me. My Vivaldi ii is ready to go when I wake up. Maybe it's something they can fix in software?

What is a high quality LOW MAINTENANCE espresso machine?

Back to the original question - I'm on Year 10 with my S1 Vivaldi VII. Plumbed in with filtered water with timer. Has been bulletproof. Only maintenance is backflush and replace gasket twice a year. Walk up, pull, and steam right away. Maybe I got lucky but the Viv II fits the bill to me

Want espresso machine that can pull awesome shots, steams without waiting-- recommendations?

Lots of happy mini Vivaldi owners out there. Similar footprint of the QM67 although a bit deeper. About $100 more but CC often gives a small discount

Bitter to sour, no change in grind.

How long are you warming the machine up? Sounds like there is alot of temp variation. Sour is too cold. Bitter usually too hot

Gushing espresso, me don't like!

On the Rocky the numbers mean nothing. You want to establish a true zero point and then move up from there. Every bean does need different grind settings. I suggest grinding finer. Recommended Olympia Cremina pressurestat setting

It should just slip off unless your machine is still hot and you have a vacuum there. You may have to let the machine cool and relieve the pressure by opening the top and the steam valve. When I did this the first time something happened that jammed my steam valve so maybe be careful to

Ordered Orphan Espresso Pharos, first ever grinder!

Check the 4 small nuts around the bean chute. All should be loose and have play. Mine arrived with one of them not loose. I used it that way for a while but did end up getting better results after realigning. C

Ordered Orphan Espresso Pharos, first ever grinder!

That's a good idea - never thought of that... My solution is a $2 hockey puck bought at a local used sporting goods store - I think someone made about joke about it somewhere but 3-5 whacks with the hockey puck on my unmodded Pharos releases almost all the grounds into a container to dose from. Afte...

The craziest %#*$ing thing I've seen all day...

Actually looking at the picture more carefully - maybe it is a cremina with a VERY warped group and a paint job
