3mm TC vs 5mm TC temperature readings?

I've been roasting on a North 500g Mill City roaster for about 4 years, and for about 6-8 mos before that on a Hottop. The North 500g came with a 5mm TC which just failed. I use Artisan on both roasters and all during this time my beans have consistently hit FC about 360F give or take. So Mill

Pre-Infusion Equals Fast Shot?

I have a Profitec Pro 700 and I have noticed when I pre-infuse for maybe 6 seconds a shot that normally pulls in 30 seconds will finish in about 20-21 seconds. So the thought occurred to me what if I ground the beans finer to slow the shot down would that result in more tasty cup because of the pre-...

Artisan V1.5 Won't Create Alarms

Marko, thanks so much for taking the time to figure out why I couldn't create alarms like in V1.3 great explanation and the issue is now very clear to me. I had posted this same question on the FB Hottop group and I will post a link to your answer as well. I'm sure I am not the only person

Artisan V1.5 Won't Create Alarms

Hi Marko, I will make sure I do that(the flag load from profile was not checked), but the problem I'm having is in the past I could actually create an alarm file from the Roast>Properties>Events by clicking "Create Alarms" even if the Profile didn't have an alarm file. I didn't do it often but now i...

Artisan V1.5 Won't Create Alarms

Hi, I don't know if I have done something or am doing something in the wrong order but when I tried to have Artisan create the Alarms from a previous roast that tasted very good the only alarm that it creates is the "ON" command. I'm roasting on a Hottop B-2ki+ anyone have an idea what might be goin...

I'm getting new roaster. Do I need a different PC/Artisan?

Thanks you guys. I'll look up save settings if it's not apparent in the app. This then might be better than palates if you want more than slider and button variations saved

I'm getting new roaster. Do I need a different PC/Artisan?

Wow, didn't think of that and it does sound super simple. I know Artisan makes changes to some Windows files for config etc and it probably is at the user account level

Vittles Pet Food Storage Container

I looked at the posts for storing green beans and none seemed "right". I just purchased 65 lbs of greens, and would like to purchase similar quantities in the future but will not go through them real fast. I have been looking for a storage solution and came across Vittles Pet Food containers and the...

I'm getting new roaster. Do I need a different PC/Artisan?

I currently have a Hottop and use Artisan 1.3.1 to control and log with it. I'll be getting a North 500g in a couple months (I hope) and I would like to set it up to interface with Artisan as well. Can my 1 PC and installed Artisan also be configured somehow to run on the North so I can

Pour Over or Americano?

Thanks for the thoughtful reply Mike. I don't often drink Americanos or drip but almost exclusively Flat Whites with some straight espressos as well. The main reason I asked the question is wondering if I invested in a chemix for instance would I get a tastier experience than either an Americano or ...
