Weber Workshops Key Mk. ii Grinder & User Experience
I am an MK1, Kickstarter Key user. Absolutely love my Key. Had it for 2 years now. I highly recommend. I would love an MK2 and have considered upgrading and might still, for the slick magnetic lid, beanfeeder, and ability to go 30RPM on light roasts. That said, my Key can do MOST coffee fine

Fun exercise: Dial in your standard shot using 2 bar preinfusion using the paddle. Then grind finer and dose down to 17g to get the same flow rate. The shot will probably be very similar. An advantage of flow control is being able to keep the same dose and use the paddle to manipulate flow rate

Pietro by Fiorenzato - vertical flat-burr manual grinders
I have the M Modal (Lance Brew) burrs. Can't speak for espresso but for drip it takes 30-45 seconds to grind. I actually ground 54g over the weekend for a big French Press. Took about 3 minutes. It's effortless especially with the base. I'd love to try the espresso B-Modal burrs but I have no need w...

What basket, dose, grinder etc are you using? These all play a role. Flow control doing a 2 bar preinfusion is only making your coffee taste better because it is allowing you to grind finer and extract more. There are other ways to do this without flow control (lower dose, use a high flow basket, in...

It's only tight if you're using coffee mugs. It's literally the perfect size for Demi's and Flat White cups. Even big gulp latte cups. Only coffee mugs struggle if you're using a scale. Claims about it being a design flaw are way overstated. Note: it sits very low so I replaced the feet with the ris...

Micra is more than enough. Mini is even more than enough if that makes sense. Micra has just enough room for cups under drip tray, length of steam wand for proper jug usage, cups on the top, size of the water tank etc. Mini gives you that extra little bit all around but it is at the expense

I thought the same thing. I've been blessed in that I could buy any machine I want. Now having owned a LM I see why they are so revered. There is confirmation bias. Confirmation that it does indeed make the best espresso I've had to date. If I'm now a shill so be it. I'm glad I have experience with
