Another VFA Expres Elite 2 rebuild
Thanks for the manual! I actually fixed the pump. The start capacitor was shot on it. Looked up the part number on digikey and ordered a replacement. Pump works like a charm now!

Cleaned all of the lugs and reassembled the machine, and now there is no issue. Must have just been some corrosion that was causing too much resistance

Yeah I tested it as well and everything checks good. It might be the way that I have it wired. I wired it up in the same manner that the old element was wired, but that doesn't mean that the old one was wired properly to begin with. You don't happen to have a picture of how your machine was

Heating element lug sparking
So thanks to Chert, I now have a heating element that works and isn't burnt through! I wired it up in the same fashion that the old one was wired and fired the machine up. It heated the water just fine, but after a few minutes It started having a few sparks on one of the lugs where the wires

Mine had two little brackets that the boiler was supported on that hold most of the weight, maybe the brackets on yours were broken off at some point?

Boiler drain nut broke off, what to do?

Ahh I see. I've looked for a startup video or something similar for this machine, but couldn't find any. Are most commercial style machine pretty similar in their startup method?

I see. I know that there is a large solenoid switch on the bottom left of the machine that when I press it down seems to draw water in to the boiler, and let water out, even without the machine turned on. I'm assuming that I was supposed to have filled it with water using that solenoid first before ...
