Brew ratios for brewed coffee?

When I brew with my siphon or french press, I like a 1:12.5 ratio (80g/L) I find with immersion style brewers brewing at lower ratios helps to bring out more flavor, and 1:12.5 is my sweet spot. This could be since immersion brewers aren't as efficient as pourovers when it comes to extraction they r...

LIDO E starting to produce more fines halfway through the bag. Why?

I have had similar issues with my Siphon, where fines can really clog glass filters, here are the steps I did with my Lido: 1.) Clean the grinds collectors every 2-4 days (as fines can get backed up here easily) 2.) Add slightly more coffee to your dose, then when done grinding don't knock/tap the g...

In Search of Siphon Recommendations (Hario Sommelier anyone?)

Yeah people often complain about the clean up process. While it's more than a paper pourover or an AeroPress it doesn't take more than a minute or two once cool to clean it

In Search of Siphon Recommendations (Hario Sommelier anyone?)

I have read (from one person) that the Somm is a little hard to pour and that it retains some of the brew - don't know if this is just one person's experience or it it's a design flaw. That being said it looks fantastic. I have the Next and compared to the Yama I have to say

In Search of Siphon Recommendations (Hario Sommelier anyone?)

I have a 3 cup Yama tabletop (~2yrs old) and I can use glass rods (Silex, Cona (new), Cona (older), and a Cory) each with varying degrees of succes (none have been terrible). I agree with the other poster that ~2/3 of a pot is about the minimum for a brew. So if you want 10-12oz get a

Flying Eagle CM300AU - A Fuji Royale variant

Yes I was planning on it. As of a couple months ago, I contacted Feima directly and they stated: $50 (burrs) + $30 (fee) + $30 shipping. Today, from Otten Coffee, it looks like $60 + $30 shipping

Flying Eagle CM300AU - A Fuji Royale variant

What do you guys think: {link} Is a great post comparing what I assume is a comparison the the burrs on the Feima 600 & 610. From my past imprecise measuring my YouWei 300 burrs are 60mm (diameter) and 8mm (thick). My thought is since my burrs are very similar to Feima 600 (in measurements) and Feima
