[SOLD] FreshRoast SR800, 12" Razzo Tube, and chaff collector upgrade

I've got a brand new, unused FreshRoast SR800 for sale. Along with it are a 12" tube from Razzo Roasting on etsy, in addition to his chaff collector extension screens. I love mine but this is a second one that never got utilized. Retail cost is $290 for the roaster, about $200 for the Razzo tube, $3...

Replacement bearings for hand grinder. Food grade?

My Helor Flux bearings need replacing. It's certainly my fault from abusive handling. I hit the grinder on my silicone trivet pretty hard every morning to settle the coffee grounds. I often do this while still running my cordless drill. The bearings are nylon/ceramic, not lubricated and open. Findin...

Longer pre-infusion on Flair 58?

I'll second Ryan's comment. The beans and grind make a big difference wrt to preinfusion needs. When doing a shorter pull on a light roast, the only way I don't end up w/ something under extracted is if I grind finer and do a longer preinfusion (like 30 seconds). Even with this longer preinfusion at...

Convince me NOT to buy a La Marzocco Linea Mini

here's my stab at talking you out of it: Straight 9 has a steeper learning curve. It's less forgiving on your puck prep, so you may experience frustration until your skill improves. Pressure/flow profiling used to be extremely expensive when the LMLM was the "cheaper" alternative to their GS3. Profi...

What are these "puck rake" and "puck cap" things?

accupuncture needle based tools like the levercraft, sworksdesign, or the cheap 3d printed ones work better than the alternatives because the needles are very thin (<.4mm). There's a $10 one on etsy (after shipping if you're in the US) that's worth the meager cost
