How to store coffee in humid climate

I bought some "Ecotact bags" from SM the other day. Sounds like a good thing--we'll see how it goes, as I now have all my greens stored in them now

Eureka Specialita vs Magnifico vs Design

My black Specialita w/ chrome sides, top, and chute from 1st-Line arrived yesterday. It's not totally all-chrome like the one WLL sells. I think it livens things up in this old shack's kitchen. Yeah, the all-chrome one at WLL is pretty shiny all right. Looks good tho. I just now lightly tapped on th...

New Buckeye BC-2 setup and first run

How much? I'd be tempted to jump on it, assuming the price is right. The optimal charge for that roaster is ~1.8 Lb (~29 Oz.) which will net you about 24.5 oz. roasted

New Buckeye BC-2 setup and first run

1. How about a metal dryer vent that has a flap that opens automatically via the air pressure when the dryer is on? 2. Hardy Panel siding is made of concrete. Ditto tile backer board. If you're looking to keep inside air in and outside air out, how about a Hardy panel on both the outside wall AND th...

New Buckeye BC-2 setup and first run

Good install, Wayne! I really like the finish on your drum housing. Is that like a hammertone finish? Looks like it'll laugh at potential scratches and dings. Mine is black chrome which scratches if you look at it too hard. What is that thing that looks like a roll of HVAC duct tape hanging off the ...

Eureka Specialita 110v at Espresso Coffee Shop?

Why do they charge 226 euro more for the USA model 110v vs. +25 euro for 110v (whatever that is)? Both are 50 - 60 Hz single phase, 310 watts. AFAIK they don't say what the difference is. Funny thing is, this 226e upcharge is only shown on the black, white, and red Specialitas but not the chrome one

Last roasted about 6 years ago. Used a heat gun bread machine roaster. Are there more, better DIY options available?

Hive I can see having one of those for an emergency. Somewhere around here I have a little one burner stove that screws onto the top of a 1 lb. propane bottle

Crazy to buy Buckeye BC-2 for home use? -- Decision!

I use a 2018 model that I bought in July 2017. I just got to where I could no longer abide the Behmor's nanny feature. I pretty much wore out my old non-nanny Behmor after many years. The (then) $4600 price of the BC-2 really put me through some mental changes (because I'm a cheapskate) but very sho...

La Peppina is ill ¡O pobrecita!

Thanks guize. Maybe reading the threads will convince me whether to go with my gadget freak nature or my love of simplicity. I gather I can't go wrong either way

La Peppina is ill ¡O pobrecita!

Thanks, guys. I hope I can be forgiven for changing the subject real quick: Robot--pressure gauge, yea or nay? I imagine it'll be redundant once muscle memory sets in, but is it really all that useful at the beginning? Thanks
