Bellingham Wa recommendations?
Thanks for the suggestion for Camber. We just got back from Makeworth roasters and this is definitely a 3rd wave spot offering cortado, macchiato, and flat white in NotNeutral glassware with roasting in-house. Very good!

Bellingham Wa recommendations?
Hi, Visiting Bellingham Wa from Monterey and wondering if there are any recommendations? We stopped at a Woods Coffee and a new place recommended by hotel (COF&) and both were staffed by enthusiastic but not particularly skilled baristas and would not go back. Anything to recommend??

New Grinder Only Grinding 25%
My Specialita will occasional decide it doesn't like a certain batch of beans and will clog itself up. It's happened maybe 3 times over its 3 year lifespan with me. I just clean it out and deal with int until I am done with that bag. It's something particular about that batch of beans that have real...

Decent vs La Marzocco Linea Micra (or Mini)
Yes, especially since there was implication earlier in the thread that the Decent is somehow not durable. I am actually very impressed with Decent's approach. They recognize that "things will fail" and designed in serviceability (all water lines are color coded for length and can be purchased easily...

Baratza Sette: what are symptoms of imminent death
In terms of detecting the failure, it won't be hard as it sounds like you are trying to grind rocks instead of coffee! You will run over and stop it right away I'm sure. And the gearbox is super easy to change out. Easier that trying to re-seat the adjust mechanism lol!

Revisiting the Eureka Specialita
I had to send my 1st Specialita back to the retailer. It would get hung up easily and stop grinding on medium roast beans. I basically couldn't get a single shot without it stopping at least once. The replacement has been perfect, at least for my preferred medium roasted profile. As for the speed. I...

Profitec Pro 300 User Experience
I don't think you need to descale after only 2 months. Do you use water with good characteristics such as the Crystal Geyser bottled at Weed/Shasta California? I have had my Profi for almost 5 years now pulling 3-5 shots a day and it has never been descaled. I just use good water and back flush mont...

The Baratza Sette 270Wi deserves more love
I had a sette 270wi and completely agree with OP. It's a great and fast grinder if you are good with the noise. I also had the gearbox go bad and Baratza replaced it free, with no fuss, and the parts arrived in a just a few days. Their support is awesome! I treated myself to a Eureka Specialita

Producers of 16 oz Bags of Comfort Espresso
I'm not so thrilled with 12 oz bags either. Maybe if I was the only espresso drinker, but between my wife and I we polish off a 2lb bag pretty quick. Here is another roaster that sells 16 oz bags on their website (and is local to me). ACME Coffee Seaside, CA

Eureka Mignon Silenzio/Perfetto/Specialita' (2018)
Update: sent the grinder back and got a replacement. The replacement was able to easily choke my espresso machine without stalling. This one is on setting ~2.75 for my medium roast beans (vs 1.5 on the original). So the stalling issue seems definitely to be anomalous and shouldn't occur with a well ...
