My first real restoration: 1995 CMA (Laurentis) SME / 2N

Appreciate the add'l replies! I currently have this in my garage and my daughter (who owns a coffee kiosk as part of "Barista's Daily Grind") is going to loan me her kiosk generator to hook it up and do some real testing this weekend. My son-in-law does a lot of the maintenance work on their La Marz...

Help setting up Air Pressure Phidget into Artisan

I have not yet read this entire thread, but I thought that this post might be helpful to someone looking at this thread: Installing Phidget 1136 Differential Air Pressure Sensor in Artisan (April 4, 2018): {link}

Screws missing from lower burr in my Rancilio Rocky (bought used)

Just a follow-up. In the absence of any feedback, I took a small-head flat screwdriver and scraped around the inner opening to remove as much of the fines/oils as possible. Then I wedged the screwdriver under (I hoped) the inner edge of the burr and twisted. It popped up and I could then get it out....

Screws missing from lower burr in my Rancilio Rocky (bought used)

Greetings, I realize that many people have moved on from the Rancilio Rocky, but I was hoping that someone could give this "bottom-feeder" some advise: I bought this machine used, pretty cheaply, knowing next to nothing about them, other than that the burrs were replaceable and that they could be mo...

For lever machines: Any creative cheap-grinder mods for espresso?

I realize that, in time, people can justify spending a LOT of money on a high quality grinder for espresso (and how important that can be). However, some people need to crawl before they can walk, and walk before they can run. I was hoping that we might get some people coming out of the woodwork to ...

La Pavoni Europiccolas--making great espresso in little time!

Thanks for your input rpavlis. I read a great post of yours the other day (Found in my googling Europiccola info) and wanted to ask you a follow-up question about it, but I will have to find it again to remind myself! (I'm sure it is still open in one of the 34 Chrome windows I currently have open.)

La Pavoni Europiccolas--making great espresso in little time!

YEP, that's her! The very simple steamer connection (no gasket on mine?) is another indicator. Thanks to all for the comments & info. I have already read many of your posts drgary. I wonder if I might ask (y'all) what you think of this idea (from a 2005 CoffeeGeek discussion): {link} I've ordered th...

La Pavoni Europiccolas--making great espresso in little time!

I appreciate your comment, trees! May I ask a follow-up question? I'm a Europiccola newbie, rebuilding (what I believe is) a vintage '88-89 Europiccola. When I asked on the La Pavoni Group on Facebook, I was told that a pressure gauge would be of no value to my machine: So can you tell me if your pr...

Bezzera BB005 shipping problems in USA?

This shipping excuse is a bogus one, IMHO. Shipping the original box within an oversize padded box will virtually eliminate this problem (as anyone who has successfully shipped fragile items knows). This might be a bit more of a hassle for the seller, and they might need to charge a bit more for the...

"Water For Coffee" book discussion

I think it only fair to point out that the authors have made a "Corrections and Amendments" to Edition One available here: {link} (since Oct. 15, 2015). For those concerned about copyright issues, the page on waterforcoffeebook.com containing the link above says:I believe that these corrections are ...
