How to pull Counter Culture "Big Trouble" (aka formerly Toscano)?

Nice I would also consider getting a 20g VST basket if you like punchy shots, that will also work well in milk based drinks. I find the standard double basket works well for smaller (15-16g) shots that tend to be more mellow tasting. Keep in mind the 16g in, 16g out is just one idea

Favorite Dark Oily Espresso Blends

Most of the truly dark and oily coffee I've had tasted a bit burned or even rancid to me... have you had some you liked? Which well known roasts didn't you like? Non-fruity, I'm a big fan of blue bottle "17ft". Not super dark, but for me it's a perfect "espresso" tasting espresso. YMMV

Espresso grinder in $750-$1500 budget?

For motorized grinders capable of single dosing, I would look at the Baratza Sette (under budget) and Monolith conical (over budget). For manual grinders capable of single dosing, I would look at HG-1 and perhaps the Helor at lower price point. For hopper fed, I just got a Compak e5 for my father an...

Newbie looking for espresso machine, budget under $1600

I find that the grinder is usually a lot louder than the pump, although I ended up with a very quiet grinder. That being said, yes I do find the Classika to be a little louder/rattling than I'd prefer at times. I'd love to have a plumbed in lever machine when space allows Regarding the
