Early blonding unless super-ristretto
Maybe it's a DC-metro region issue, because I have been experiencing something very similar, very light colored pulls. Interestingly, the coffee looks okay, like a tiny glass of guiness, but coming out it is blond from the very start. I have started increasing my dose and have already reached the lo...

Fresh Coffee in Maryland?
I hope this isn't breaking the rules, but I am a local small batch roaster. For people in DC, I deliver the same day I roast. People who live in the close-by suburbs can arrange for pick up from my house in Petworth. I use high-quality single origin, usually single estate, beans and focus on light a...

It is the lower hole in the back of the grouphead that connects to the HX. Peering through that hole, which my camera doesn't really capture, I can see the pitting on the 'sroom. {image}

Rusty E61 mushroom - what next?
Pitting may have been a better description as from what I can see it is rust on the chrome plating. I should also mention that I haven't removed the mushroom yet, so my view of the mushroom is limited. The water appears to be coming from the outlet to the heat exchanger

Rusty E61 mushroom - what next?
I have an ECM Giotto that I bought in non-working order but which I have recently been able to get up and running. Once the machine was operational, I proceeded to give it a thorough descaling. However, in the process of descaling the thermosyphon, water started to leak from the grouphead. In disass...

Ebay Temptation: Old Astoria Compact?
Actually, I am kind of hoping someone does buy it before temptation wins out and I pull the trigger myself. It looks like a great machine, I just really shouldn't be spending that much dough right now. Unfortunately, you have done nothing to help me squelch the temptation. So, if I do buy it, it wil...
