Londinium piston removal

This is such a bit of a shame. This group has a very clever design, with the thread on the piston side beeing long enough to take all the tension off the spring without any special tools. Unfortunately from factory they seem to be glued in. I had to use a lot of heat to break the loctite. Now I

Londinium piston removal

The shame is that sll this wouldn't be needed if these groups were put together correctly. The piston side has a very long thread to take the tension of the spring. Great thinking of somebody 60 years ago. Unfortunately in my case some morron used loctite on that side of the threat so that it needed...

The wobbly burrs and the adjustment on my Aergrind was bothering me so I removed the two ball bearings and replaced them with a sleeve with two DU bushings. I extended this sleeve all the way down to the inner burr. I also removed the spring and fitted a slightly bigger ball bearing at the top, this...

Different biting points

A lot of good advice. It's good to review the old habits again. I think I have it pinned down to the PI pressure. When I looked at the pressure it was lower than I thought, more around the 1.1 to 1.2 mark. I have increased the pressure to more around 1.3bar now and the biting point is much

Different biting points

No, its not a new phenomenon. It changes with the beans, too. I went through a very good spell for a while. I installed a PID a while ago because the noise of the pressure switch was annoying me. Maybe I was running the machine at slightly higher PI pressure back then? I might try to increase the te...
