Giving up on Monolith grinder - What's next?
I would second this strategy. It's easy to buy/sell in the HB community, and the well known high-end grinders you're looking at are unlikely to lose much value over 1 or 2 years. Plus, who knows, you might be satisfied with your "interim" grinder and decide to stop "upgrading". It's truly a golden a...

New PID kettle
Though I've owned a couple Bonavita electric kettles over the years, they pour a little too fast for my taste (and a little too slow with the flow restrictor in place). The Stagg EKG for me is just right. Plus, water hits target temp a little faster (1200w vs 1000w). In my opinion, it's worth the ad...

Switching from espresso to filter range is very easy. A quick turn of the adjustment funnel. I'll update this thread with impressions after I've had a chance to A-B test MC3 vs MAX for pourover. Been a bit busy lately so haven't had a chance to test yet

Espressos made before fully breaking in the burrs tasted fine. In fact, I don't think I would be able to taste a difference between my grinder now and when it first arrived. I was just eager to have the red arrow fall into the reference range printed on the top plate. Initially, I placed a temporary...

My MC3 with TiN burrs arrived a few weeks ago. As a previous owner of the first generation conical with steel burrs, I was well acquainted with the MC's strengths. It's hefty, precisely machined, quiet, and seemingly made to last multiple lifetimes. If you're considering the TiN burrs, be forewarned...

La Marzocco Linea Mini upgrades: Slayer steam tips & gasket replacement
I'm on my second Cafelat silicone gasket for the LMLM and have never experienced a leak. While both the OEM rubber gasket and Cafelat silicone gaskets do the job, I prefer the softer material of the latter ... requires less force to make a good seal

Best pour over options?
Our Bonavita at work unfortunately developed a leak at the base of the spout. This occurred after about a year and a half, boiling about 30-40 pots of water per week. It's entirely possible that the leak was caused by misuse. It's a good kettle, and I'd consider the flow restrictor essential for V60...

La Marzocco Linea Mini - 240V vs 110V which would you buy?
110V does very well indeed. No problem steaming while pulling shots, and while I'm only an amateur, I've never been able to outpace the steaming power of the 3.5L steam boiler when making back-to-back 5 oz. cappuccinos for guests (~1 every 2.5-3 minutes). I think 110 vs 240 may be less of a concern ...
