ECM Synchronica VS Decent DE1+
Couldn't possibly disagree more with the idea of the Decent being unforgiving. The Decent isn't unforgiving, the profiles you're using are. With a profile focused on being forgiving, you can get passable results even with a wildly out of whack grind size

ECM Synchronica VS Decent DE1+
I have the DE1 and absolutely love it. For almost every coffee I work with I'm using multiple different fixed flow rates in my flow profiling (flow control is not flow profiling, by the way, but rather a means of pressure profiling as a fixed position does not equate to a static flow rate on flow co...

Single Dosing grinder with washable stainless internals
If they were machined stainless they couldn't be priced where they are and would need to be several times that to not be sold at a loss. There's also no reason other than paranoia to do it, so I don't really see how a grinder manufacturer could survive catering to the audience of "people willing to ...

Do we really need to tamp after distribution
There's also every study involving levelers showing they're neutral at best and probably worsen extraction but for some reason people insist on using them over a simple dissecting needle

Is body of espresso on the DE1 thinner?
Coming from a Strietman CT1, I can't say there's been any difference in the demands of puck prep when using similar profiles. The CT1 was still demanding if I slammed the gauge straight to 9bar and held it there. the DE1 is still forgiving if I do a preinfusion and profile the pressure. And vice ver...

First Impressions of Decent Espresso DE1+PRO
I had shipping options, and chose UPS so I could request it held at a location for pickup, don't exactly want it left on my porch. Price difference from default was negligible. The accessories shipped with the default shipping and arrived around the same time

Is body of espresso on the DE1 thinner?
The pump pressure differences can be figured out and accounted for (be it with different firmware or more powerful hardware), baskets can be used in different machines, and water dispersion is more right/wrong than preference. I can't say if the Decent will ever be there, but a machine with full abi...

Is body of espresso on the DE1 thinner?
The sediment getting through paper filters is the same sediment that can work through the puck, mostly very very microscopically fine. If you're using Whatman 597 filters, you won't get any sediment larger than 7um. If Grade 5 filters, 2.5um. Clarification isn't all or nothing. And even finely paper...
