Chemex 3 cup output
The question: Will a Chemex 3 cup easily and tastefully brew 15 ounces of coffee? Why I ask: I am considering a Chemex 3 cup (15-16 oz) brewer. I usually brew 7 ounces (15g coffee/240g water) at a time. However, I would like the option to double that when I brew one for me and one

Electric kettle with temperature control?
How much water is being heated would be a factor it seems to be. Being low would seem to be a plus, also, as long as the kettle is not full. Then I can see the concern if the entire kettle has sat too long and begun to cool. The primary question remains for me, however

Coffee Characteristics by Origin - great reference
Just what I was looking for. It will pair nicely with a poster I bought at Christmas from cafe imports mapping much of this same information. I am having it framed and put beside my coffee bar as a visual learning aid (nice look too)

Chemex brewing
Thank you so much for the replies! Helpful, but the solution still eludes me. My Baratza Vario has settings from 1-10. I used up to an 8 and it still took 7 minutes. Not bad, but not what I expect. Far from the 4 min. max I've read it should take (24g med. roast Guatamalean

Chemex brewing
I have a 10 cup all glass Chemex that I cannot get to finish a brew in less than 8-10 minutes rather than the maximum 4:45 I have seen on major coffee sites and in their YouTube instructional video's. I use a Baratza Vario and even on a french press setting grinding as course as the BV

Saint Anthony Industries Thoroughgood tamper
Anyone have experience with this tamper in a VST basket? Is it tapered? Can you compare it to a Pergman or Reg Barber?
