ECM Synchronika will be 4 years old this fall. Any maintanence I should be doing?

Just keep doing what you're doing. As Bert suggests, it wouldn't hurt to check for scale, but I doubt you'll find much, given the soft water you're using. The mushroom won't likely have any at all, as there's no possibility for TDS up-creep in that circuit. I have similarly low TDS water and pull th...

Lelit Bianca sudden event and issue

The brew and steam circuits are virtually independent; the only common element is the pump. The brew pressure is entirely dependent on the pump pressure; so your group lost pressure part way through the shot. The steam pressure is entirely dependent on the heat in the boiler. So, my guess, and it's ...

Switch off fans of Mahlkonig K30 twin grinder (Ditting KED 640)

Well dang! You're right. I don't know where I got the idea that he is using it in a small café. There must have been another thread in my head . I'm not sure that the blade assy can be removed from those computer fans, but it might be worth a try to snip the blades off of

Switch off fans of Mahlkonig K30 twin grinder (Ditting KED 640)

I don't think this would work, as the fans in his grinder are 3-wire computer fans. One wire is the power, one wire is ground. The voltage across these wires, drives the fan. The third wire tells the motherboard how fast the fan is spinning; the mother board can vary the voltage across the first two...

Lights flicker in house, when espresso machine is on (Alex Leva).

What you are experiencing is called voltage sag. Some sag under heavy load is perfectly normal; excessive sag is a sign of inadequate load centre capacity or poor joints in a circuit. Also, the sag will be there whenever the heater is on; it's just that you don't notice the constant lower level like...

Magister Stella Sirai Pressure Switch Electric Buzzing

The sound you're hearing is most likely not buzzing, but arcing; it's not a good thing to let this happen for any length of time. If you happen to have a point file, like we used to use on automotive points, you can use it to dress (clean) the contacts. If you don't have a point file, you can buy

1 hole versus 3/4 hole steam wand?

I no longer have a Breville machine, but perhaps my insight might help On my Brevilles(I had three Baristas, and two Café Romas), steaming took quite a while--long stretching phase and long heating phase. Eventually, I got quite good at getting what I wanted. After that, I had a Magister Stella, whi...

External water tank.

You might have a look at the destruction manual for your machine. Usually, when plumbing in, the manufacturer specifies a maximum pressure. That got me thinking that there may also be a minimum pressure if the machine is designed to be plumbed only. Of course, you could try it and see how it goes, i...

External water tank.

A trip to your local RV or boat store should reveal everything you need. For tanks, I suggest food-grade Jerry cans. For a pump, you need one with inbuilt pressure sensor; there are many brands available. The pump will come on only when the espresso machine calls for water, without any need to conne...

Magister Stella - Pump works but not pulling water

I used to have a Magister HX, great little machine, with little to go wrong. I once replaced the vibe pump, which was the only repair I ever had to do. I had a similar outcome to you. Using a large medical syringe, I ran water into the two hoses that go into the reservoir. After that, it worked perf...
