Fellow Ode brew grinder review
I wrote that the Ode produces fewer fines. Current burr set is replacement OEM with approx 200 lbs through it. I did have a Mill City set in it for a while. The Bunn FPG is the same as the G series with just a different body and a less convenient adjustment method. Functionally the same as the G1/G2...

Fellow Ode brew grinder review
My Ode arrived today and so far I am more than satisfied for the price. My interest was putting something more aesthetically pleasant on the bar than my Bunn FPG. I ran a pound of old beans through it and made a couple of pourovers. The Ode has significantly lower fines compared to the Bunn and does...

New Fellow Ode 64mm flat brew grinder (Kickstarter)
Yes. You're taking a sample size of 1 from a pre-production unit of unknown specifications and condemning a grinder that hasn't even shipped to the crowdfunding backers yet. It's a $300 grinder. Maybe it'll be crap. Maybe it will be stellar. You don't know yet. You haven't had your hands on it, and ...

Eureka Atom 75 Keeps Clogging
I pulled mine apart this morning for a quick cleaning and took time to pay attention to the two screws that hold the chute to the burr housing. Mine were definitely loose. I pulled the chute, cleaned any grounds from the surfaces, and remounted using low strength loctite to prevent loosening. I may ...

Eureka Atom Specialty 75 - an opinion
You need to separate burr geometry from surface treatments. It is highly unlikely you will see any measurable difference between two sets of the same geometry with different (TiN/Red Speed) surface treatments. These surface treatments were developed for the machine tool industry (my last career) and...

High steam boiler pressure (brand new Lucca S58)
I had a problem where my steam boiler fill solenoid had a small piece of plastic stuck in the solenoid valve. It caused the steam boiler to over fill and vent as described. I was able to easily pull the valve and find the offending piece. Have had no trouble after 6 years of use since

Eureka Atom Specialty 75 - an opinion
From what I understand SSP changes the profile and tooth count as compared to the Mythos set. I may at some point order the SSP burrs, but I'm not in a hurry. The grinder performs excellent with the TiN Mythos set

Am I sentenced to a life of single-dosing voodoo?
I'm using an Atom 75 with the Mythos burrs. I threw away my wdt paperclip. The grinds go straight into the portafilter, then BT Wedge, then Levy tamp, then shot. A bad shot with this setup is lightyears ahead of my old Q9, in part because the drop down that long chute onto a trap door with the Q9 ca...
