Hi Bob That must be really frustrating! There must still be something in there rusting away...very slowly. I suppose if you tipped out old water and started with a fresh charge each time that you used the machine it would be ok taste-wise

What speed are you using? I found inconsistency in times and flow when I was using higher speeds (1200-1400rpm) for espresso. It was frustrating.
