Doserless grinder and my head exploding

I'd suggest "7. Quiet" as a good goal for a home grinder and offer the Ceado E37S. Been very happy with mine for years

WDT changes extraction time drastically

"It" being "normalization" and avoiding the need for WDT. For me, that's not a worthwhile goal for a home grinder. WDT adds almost no time to my workflow. On the other hand, mechanisms which improve "normalization" (dosers, wipers, grates in the coffee path, etc) also have serious drawbacks in terms...

How good is the quality control of the roaster you buy from?

This is my collection discovered in maybe 150 lbs of coffee from the same roaster. Luckily, I noticed the first one before I started the grinder. I now carefully check each bag as I transfer the beans to a storage canister. Not fun, but I like the roaster enough to put up with it and in any case I d...

In 2017 what are some of the better coffee bean storage containers?

I've used an Airscape canister for years and I'm very happy with it. I "stage" beans in a small mason jar, which I refill from the Airscape every couple of days or so

Crema breaking during latte art pour--help!

A couple more thoughts. Do you steam before, during or after the shot? I generally prefer to steam first, then pull the shot while I clean the wand and swirl the milk. I can pour immediately after the shot is done. Watch youtube videos on latte art and try to imitate the technique. The breakthrough ...

Crema breaking during latte art pour--help!

How fresh are your beans? You could try beans just a day or two off roast. Taste may not be ideal but you'll get more voluminous crema. If your beans are older than a couple of weeks, your crema is likely too fragile and short-lived
