Jake, Thanks for the excellent, clear responses. That clarified a lot!! I'll pass this along to my friend. He has lousy, hard water (lives in Michigan) and will need a water treatment system for sure. Lou

Slayer vs La Marzocco Linea Mini Comparison

I'm helping a friend do some research on the Slayer Espresso and the La Marzocco Linea Mini, the two machines he is considering for home use. I'm not 100% clear on how either machine operates and wanted some feedback. I'm also not sure whether he will plumb it in or use a reservoir. My experience is...

Need help rewiring a bread machine motor

Jammin...thanks for the link on rewiring a bread machine. I was able to get my Oster bread machine working based on that link. I'm still trying to trace the circuit for the Panasonic machine and hope to get it working too. I have bookmarked that link, which is excellent!! Thanks for the help. It was...

Need help rewiring a bread machine motor

Jammin, Thx for the reply and the link. I will try to attach two photos showing one of each machine. I haven't attached pictures, so I hope this works. They are in PNG format. I've labeled the key elements and the names of the two bread machines. The first is a Panasonic and second is an Oster. Lou

Both my backup machines have fractional HP, single phase motors. Each motor has three leads for the stator windings - Red, Wh...

Publix milk and occasional strange bubbles

Thanks, Clint. Interesting that you have the problem with larger batches and that it is by date. Having a coffee shop, you use a LOT more milk than I do. Publix supplies milk from different plants, so I am wondering if the issue is related to a specific facility, or perhaps just variation in time an...

Publix milk and occasional strange bubbles

I'm pretty good at steaming milk and can usually get nice microfoam for latte art. I usually use Publix 2% milk. Every once in awhile, I get a gallon of milk that bubbles up like crazy no matter what I do. I'll stop steaming, but bubbles keep developing even after the steam nozzle is turned off. Ver...
