Haha, I've actually lived here my whole life, but moved into a new place recently. I love our little city and I have yet to meet someone else who has traveled here and hasn't enjoyed at least something. Corkys is great!!

[FOUND] Breville Dual Boiler (920 preferred)

Hi, My trusty NS Oscar has a cracked fitting on the boiler, and I don't have the time to try and repair it right now having just moved. I'm about to pull the trigger on a new BDB, had one years ago and it served me well. I was hoping maybe someone here had a well taken care of

Nuova Simonelli Oscar tripping breaker after replacing Gicar brain box

Ha! Working on cars is much more enjoyable to me than espresso machines I think, so I'll stick with that! Unfortunately the Oscar has developed a crack in the boiler at one of the brazed on nuts anyway. I might try and rebraze it, but for now I'm ordering a BDB. I just moved and don't have any

Nuova Simonelli Oscar tripping breaker after replacing Gicar brain box

Fixed, melted ground wire that must've been further disturbed during disassembly. FWIW, I'm rather mechanically inclined by trade, sometimes you get a little caught up in working and a second (or third) set of eyes is nice. Especially considering the electrical oddities of these early machines which...

Nuova Simonelli Oscar tripping breaker after replacing Gicar brain box

Hi, Been a while since I've been on here. Recently my Oscar went crazy and kept flickering the water/heat lights constantly. I pulled the Gicar box apart and found a bad capacitor and replaced it. I took this as an opportunity to tear down the whole machine and descale/replace old components. Once i...

Nuova Simonelli Oscar pump running/not autofilling boiler

It seems that the solenoid is free, very small amount of scale in the innards but not enough to restrict flow. I've got it soaking anyway. I did disconnect the lines and I do have water out of the fresh water line

Nuova Simonelli Oscar pump running/not autofilling boiler

Hi! It's been a good few years since I've been around here, but I've run into a problem with my olllld NS Oscar. Today, once I stopped my extraction, the pump kept running and sounded as if it has pressure build up. I assumed this was just the boiler being refilled after some steam, but it wouldn't ...

Nuova Simonelli Oscar grouphead overheating

I've owned an Oscar before and I never remember the grouphead getting this hot. When I try to touch the portafilter (to do stockfleth's) it's extremely hot to the point where I can't get close to it. I expect it to be "hot" but with all other machines and even my previous Oscar I was able to rest my...

La Marzocco GS3 steam pressure drop

It doesn't really seem like a problem unless it's dropping a significant amount. Obviously while you are steaming milk, steam is escaping the boiler causing the pressure and water level to drop, the machine is going to correct that by refilling the boiler and heating the steam boiler
