Inexpensive Chinese Ghost Burr Grinder

After reading through this thread I decided to purchase the Xeoleo from Amazon. My Breville Smart was 5 years old and not grinding well. I received it yesterday afternoon and I have to say I'm very impressed with the build quality of this little machine. Visually, the grind looks very consistent. Ma...

Worthy grinder upgrade for Hario V60?

I have been looking for a grinder for my morning brew as well (V60). I think the Vario with the alignment mod is probably the best your going to get but it's pricy. After reading some users experience with the Xeoleo I thought it was worth a try. The price is certainly right and I was able to order on

Replacing Breville Smart. What to buy?

Hi all, I think my Breville Smart burrs are shot. Been using it for about 5 years daily (V60-02 mostly). I used to make some amazing coffee but this has changed over the last year. All are meh at best. Takes longer than I would like to draw down in the V60 despite having the grind setting almost to

Subpar drip could the burrs be worn?

***UPDATE*** Think I answered my own question. I set my SJ up on my counter this am and dialed in the grind to where it would produce a bit quicker drawdown time around 3:00 30g/500mL in the V60. The taste difference between this mornings cup (Breville Smart) and this was night and day. No compariso...

Hi all. I'm hoping someone can give me some advise. I used to roast and make some really darn good coffee. Im no expert but what I was drinking made me very happy. I'd say over the last year my coffee has gone downhill. Trying different origins, roasting techniques, grind settings, etc. They all tas...

Weird leak from heating element

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I did fix the issue. Ordered a new O-ring. Did a boiler dump to drain it. No more water leaking when it cools down. Yay!

Weird leak from heating element

Hi, I have an ECM Technika Profi IV that is about 3 years old. I have been noticing a water spot on my counter after the machine is shut down overnight. I finally took the covers off and took a look. It is leaking out of the heating element where it would seal to the boiler. Parts diagram shows

Dim boiler indicator light?

Hello All, I was having an issue with my newer ECM Technika Profi IV a couple months ago. The boiler would not heat up but both green and orange lights would illuminate. Of course when I sent it in for repair it began working. The machine was sent back to me and Ive been using it

Upgrading coffee roaster to the next level

I dont know what your budget is and available space but Mill City all the way. The 500g would be a huge upgrade from what you currently have. Go with the 1K if you have the space. The thing is a beast
