Izzo Alex owners please twist my arm
Sorry I'm late to this party. Did you pull the trigger? I've had mine for about 2 months. My results are better than coffee house about 99% of the time. Machine works flawlessly. I'd buy the single-hole steam tip for the steam wand, but other than that I have nothing but praise for the Alex

Cracking into the Extraction: when and where the espresso puck brews.
What if you dried the pucks on their side? Would that possibly eliminate the top to bottom potential movement of particulate in the drying stage? Or maybe you did this and I missed it: What about drying some pucks upside down, then comparing to pucks dried rightside up? The difference may indicate h...

What's the best HX machine for ~$1000? (Anita by Quick Mill?)
I have the new Alex by Izzo. It's the one with a rotary pump that switches from pour over to plumbed. The Andreja must be plumbed. For the record, after climbing a steep learning curve I now get awesome results the vast majority of the time. I didn't plumb mine in, but I refill the tank

My Anita and M4 order From Chris - Detailed unpacking Pics
Very nice. I can also assure you that if you have any questions or issues, ChrisCoffee's continued service is top notch. Now prepare yourself for the learning curve..... My only initial tip: If you've never owned a "real" espresso machine before, be prepared that you will be grinding finer than you ...

Worth PID'ing the Quickmill Alexia? was "Big Upgrade time"
Congrats. Based on my recent experience with Chriscoffee, you'll be very pleased. I'm sure everyone will validate your decision to go with a great grinder. I just got the MACAP M4 stepless from Chriscoffee as well. It works amazingly

Getting to know the Izzo Alex
As a "beta-tester" I can say the initial limitations were 85% my own, 14% UPS, and 1% the newness of the machine. UPS had dropped and damaged my box so badly that we photographed the box before opening it. The only issues I had were a split water line and a loose drain plug screw. After addressing

Getting to know the Izzo Alex
Well - this morning I made the best latte I've ever had. I had screwed up the settings on my Macap, and finally got it dialed back in last night. The Alex is set to a peak pressure of 1.17 bar. Once everything was heated up and stable, I flushed into a measuring cup. After 6 ounces

Getting to know the Izzo Alex
As to cycle length: I just turned my Alex on from cold. It heated until the pressure was 1.20 bar. The green light went on, an the pressure started to drop. It took exactly 35 seconds for the pressure (and thus, the temperature) to drop to 1.05 bar, at which point the machine cycled back on
